We
wholeheartedly believe in the well-known Confucius quote, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Our team members are passionate about what we do every day. While we love what we do, it’s important
to get away from our desks and just have fun.
Core Value #10: Have Fun is important for remaining sane in the fast-paced world we live and work in. We don’t believe fun at work
takes away from productivity—we believe it increases it. When you enjoy the people you work with and the environment you work in, it’s much easier to focus your passion toward developing great products and sites.
Having fun at our office has helped us build relationships that go deeper than being co-workers. After all, we spend 40+ hours per week with each other, shouldn’t we get along? With a team of 16 (and growing!) it’s important
to be a cohesive group that can both work and play together.
Giggles at Far Reach Fun Day during a heated game of Balderdash. Any guesses on the definition of kakkerlak? (Hint: It is not a "lack of kack.")
One way we keep fun in our lives is with Far Reach Fun Day. One Friday each month,
we get out of work mode and do something fun. We’ll play a board game, catch a movie, go mini-golfing, head down to Sturgis Falls—something to get us away from our desks and bonding as a group.
In addition to getting out of the office, we also keep it lighthearted at the office. We work hard, but it’s easier to work hard when you know it’s OK, and even appreciated, when we joke around at the office. We maintain our
individual senses of humor, no matter how quirky. Here’s some evidence:
